I am sure many of you have encountered the term "overqualified" when you tried to get a job. What does it means ?

Have you ever applied for a job you knew you could do the best, you have all the qualification, knowledge, experience and recommendations. But when you applied you received an answer saying "you are overqualified !".

There is no such animal as overqualified ! its like saying: "you can do the job too good !". You havn't asked for more salary or bonuses, you simply applied to a jobe you knew you could do well, and someone on the other side of the line says: "We need bad people, worse then you, that can fullfill the task not in the best possible way" . Sound absurd isn't it ? Yes it is an absurd !

What kind of company testify that its not good enough to hire the best person for the job ? What kind of company would say "Sorry we are awfu, you will be too good for us".

There are 2 other possibilities:

the first is that they do not want to offend the applicants – fine, but what will be offending in telling him: "sorry we found someone better", I think telling him: "you are much better then we need is offending his intelligence !

The second possibility is that the HR office/manager/clerk is lacking the capabilities to make the difference between the different applicants and working according to the book, this is very common in Europe. But that also means that the HR person should be sent home to find a new job as he/she is bad.
