Sometimes computer people are lazy, and when they get lazy they produce stupid ideas. Data security developers are the worst, and they are also effecting our lives more then anyone else. The description of wrong identification is False Negative (2 negative means positive) False negative is identifying a software as infected while its not or an email as a scam/spam when it is harmless.

The description of wrong identification is False Negative (2 negative means positive) False negative is identifying a software as infected while its not or an email as a scam/spam when it is harmless. False negative happens when a developer is lazy and decide to create a pattern without checking. Free the French service provider is actually filtering outgoing emails that contain messages with large numbers (200,000 for example). why ? Because most scam messages deals with promising high amount of money. But what if you are sending a legal business quotation to a customer ? The mail not only will not reach your customer, it will not even bounce back, it will just fade away. How to avoid it ? 1. instead of writing numbers write it in letters (i.e. two hundred thousand) 2. don’t use Free SMTP (I suspect it’s not only free). False negative appear many times in anti viruses identification, and this is even worse. The virus warning appears before even the file was downloaded to your computer (no antivirus can check the file without it available on the computer actually, therefore this identification cannot be trusted). The main problem is that people trust their Anti virus software and therefore they can easily destroy this way a software company. Even if you check with several antiviruses you may get the same result because all of them (or at least the majority)are using the same concept of "guessing". So if one is wrong then the other will be wrong as well. Another issue of stupid warnings are the mail software: Thunderbird (by Mozilla)will warn you of any mail that have a link on it that it believes its a scam. Some Browser will warn you whenever you are about to download an execution file (EXE) that "Execution files may harm your computers". This warning is so ridiculous because you all have thousand of execution files on your computers, but it does terrifies the beginners. Actually everything terrifies the beginners, why make it worse.
